Specialist/One-Off Workshop(s), PAW Led Workshop, Artist Led Workshop
Isle of Purbeck
As part of the PAW arts festival Helen is working as Purbeck Young Artists (PYA) coordinator. PYA is part of the annual Purbeck Art Weeks Festival and exists to promote and celebrate the arts amongst young people. There are two main strands; an exhibition of young artists’ work and a series of artist led workshops in local schools sponsored and organised by PYA.
Helen works with schools to make large scale mosaic projects which are permanently displayed in the schools. Helen is presently working on a panel with the students from Purbeck View school which explores the theme of “a sense of belonging”.
Helen also runs workshops in the rust printing process – a practical workshop where pupils use objects to create interesting and diverse prints onto cloth. These prints are then used to make wall hangings, 3D armatures or artifact which relate to the curriculum or class room learning.
Helens new workshop – a workshop using coloured wire to make large animals, sea creatures and other objects – can be viewed at this years PYA exhibition at Rollington Barn.
