Fiona Kelly is a potter who has had a presence in Wareham for the last 20 years. Her work is mainly thrown, stoneware pottery – decorative and functional, often with a Purbeck theme. Fiona has owned the Creative Gallery in St John’s Hill, Wareham for the last six years and continues the Gallery’s ethos of representing Dorset based artists/makers in the Gallery’s residential and guest makers.
For her, clay is a magical material – starting with a soft lump of clay and transforming it into a permanent piece for daily use is rewarding and fascinating, the designs achievable are endless. A small variety of the possible forms can be seen at the Creative Gallery and the many fairs/shows that Fiona attends each year. See: www.fionakellypots.co.uk and www.creativegallerywareham.co.uk
